Tallassee student selected for All-State Jazz Band | News

Charlcie Hathorn, a 9th grader at Tallassee High School and a member of the Tallassee Music Department, became only the second student ever from Tallassee High to be selected for the All-State Jazz Band, held January 10-12, 2013 at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center.  Charlcie plays flute and piccolo in the THS band and Montgomery Youth Orchestra, but performed on tenor saxophone in the All-State Jazz Band.  Only 18 students from the state of Alabama were chosen.  Pictured after her final performance are Michael Bird, Southside Middle School band director; Charlcie Hathorn; and Mike Hammonds, Tallassee High School jazz band director.
